BACKGROUND
As a painter/photographer with a background in architecture and design, I constantly frame my vision of the world to imagine how subject matter may appear on a canvas or in a photo. I still shoot with my old SLR and a variety of lenses as I did in art school in San Francisco. As a photography student, I shot extensively among the industrial settings of South San Francisco. To this day, I am still attracted to shattered metal and surface degradation, always seeking out wrecking yards and their inherent chaos. I search for instances of beauty and narrative hidden within the disarray of these wrecking yards. My abstract expressionist mindset, and the inherent energy it generates, allows me to transpose this vision onto canvas.
